Black & White Christmas Card

It has been so long since I posted my last entry!  I have been traveling, camping, and just generally goofing off.  I have made lots of cards, took pictures of them, but never got them posted.  I was always needing to get them in the mail, so they would get there in time, then another adventure would pop up.

This week, I am entering the black and white card Christmas card contest at Joan's Gardens.  This is kind of ironic as the last contest I entered featured a black & white card and used some of the same dies. I love the Fleur De Lis Squares, and use them quite a lot.  They are so lacy and pretty!

Items Used:

Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares from  Joan's Garden
Stampin' Up! Deer from My Digital Studio "Warmth & Wonder"
Martha Stewart Pine Branch punch, discontinued, but Joan's Garden has some dies that are almost the same.
EK Success Snowflake Punch - flower made by using two snowflakes with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page small snowflake center and a pearl from my stash.
That's it! This is a card that almost puts itself together.

Black & White Card

This card will be entered in the Joan's Garden's Black & White Challenge Week # 10

Materials Used:

Staples:  Black & White 160# Cardstock
Spellbinders:  Fleur De Lis Squares (From Joan's Gardens)
Bitty Blossoms (large rose) (From Joan's Gardens)
                       Floral Ovals (From Joan's Gardens)
Cheery Lynn Dies:  Fanciful Flourish (From Joan's Gardens)
Stampin' Up!:  Small Heart punch (small rose)
                        Pearls
                        Butterfly punch
                        Vintage Postcard Stamp (discontinued)
Martha Stewart:  Pine Branch Punch (discontinued)
Cuddlebug: Kassie's Brocade embossing folder
Copic Marker: Black
Lace from my sewing stash

I embossed the front of the card with the Cuddlebug Kassie's Brocade folder.  Then I glued  the largest Fleur De Lis Square in the center with the two smaller squares on either side.  I cut a piece of black cardstock and glued it inside the front cover and attached the scrap of lace to it.  The large flower was made using the largest die from the Bitty Blossoms set and the smaller one was made by cutting out small hearts and forming them into the rose.  I stamped the lady at the desk with ink onto a white oval from the Floral Oval die, but it didn't turn out like I wanted it, so I used a black copic marker to go over it.  I placed the pine branches and flowers at the left side on top of the Fanciful Flourish.  I cut the butterfly out of a peice of Kassie's Brocade embossed card stock, attached feelers and pearls to it, and placed it at the top of the small rose.  I placed the pearls on the squares and oval last.

Christmas Deer

Materials used:

Stampin' Up! Night of Navy Cardstock and Silver Glimer Paper
Michaels White Glitter Paper
Martha Stewart Pine Branch Punch (discontinued)

Spellbinders Poinsettia Die
Memory Box Snowflake corner & Deer Trio
Crafts-Too Pine Tree Scene Embossing Folder
White Chalk
Pearls from my stash

I embossed the Night of Navy center piece with the Pine Tree Scene embossing folder then highlighted it with white chalk on the left side of the trees and smudged it in to the right side to give it a shadow effect.  The star was made by cutting out a silver glimmer paper snowflake, using a punch that I think was a Martha Stewart one, and then cutting off the points to make it look like a star.

Halloween Card For Contest

This  is the card that I am entering in The Paper Shelter #86 Charming contest.  The criteria asks that you use one of their pictures and a charm of some sort.

Of all the charms that I found in my stash, the only one that fit this picture was a cute little kitten.

This card opens up to show the little "I May Have Exaggerated A Bit" colored with Tombo, Tsukineko, and Stampin' Up markers.

The frames were made with the Labels Collection Framelets from Stampin' Up! and the flowers and garland are from the Manon's Wedding Garland by Cheery Lynn, with stamens from the Cheery Lynn Embellishments #1.

The inside stamp is from a discontinued Stampin' Up! set, "Hand Penned Holidays," that was stamped in black ink, then gone over with a "copper star" Gelly Roll Glitter Pen.

Halloween Cards

Halloween is just about here, so when my friend, Nancy, introduced me to the Paper Shelter web site, I fell in love with their line drawings.  Nancy and I got together at her house and the fun began!

I made three cards all using the Paper Shelter's girl, "I may have exaggerated a bit," in different colors.  I used some Copic markers but am just getting into them so I only have six colors so far.  The rest of the colors were from my stash of markers from Tombow, Tsukineko, and Stampin' Up!

Bats were made with a Martha Stewart punch.

So, here are the cards.

I have some Christmas downloads from the Paper Shelter and I am anxious to begin working with them.  they are so cute!  Be sure to visit their website at thepapershelter.com  All Cheery Lynn Dies can be ordered from atjoan'sgardens.com.

Now if some good fairy would only provide me with a full set of Copic Sketch markers, I would be in artsy fartsy heaven!
